Cleaning & Maintain Marble Floors - Clean, Dry, Rinse, Polish, Seal

Posted at April 5, 2007 by Teresa Morrow

Helpful tips to marble floors:

  • Place coasters under glasses and put plastic under cosmetics on marble surfaces.
  • Use rugs to cover marble floors.
  • Powdered cleansers will scratch or damage marble.
  • Be sure to know that even weak acids (such as vinegar & orange juice) can damage marble. Mop up spills immediately and thoroughly rinse with water.

v     STEP 1: Apply a damp clean cloth and buff dry with micro fiber cloth for  the regular ongoing cleaning. v     STEP 2: For tough stains, apply a neutral, nonabrasive cleaner (such as acetone, hydrogen peroxide or clear ammonia) with a clean cloth and buff dry with a micro fiber cloth.v     STEP 3: When it comes to polishing the marble, apply a marble  polish containing tin oxidev     STEP 4: Protect marble with a good stone sealer.v     STEP 5: When it comes to scratches of any depth: it is best to call a professional
